ELKO – New restaurants sometimes take awhile to get off the ground, but after just six months, Dreez is already an Elko favorite, taking gold in the best breakfast and restaurant customer service categories.

“Business is going really well,” said owner John Karr. “We hired another chef and are soon expanding our breakfast and lunch service from five days to seven days. We offer dinner Thursday through Saturday nights.”

The owners are also tweaking the menu and adding new items.

“We first envisioned small-plate meals and upper-end cocktails,” said co-owner Audrey Karr.

Although small-plate dinners can be quite a bit of food, the couple is now adding items for the really big appetite.

“We’re offering a Manhattan cut steak that is a New York cube cut,” said John Karr. “It’s a good chunk of meat. We are also adding more gluten-free options, including a veggie ravioli that tastes amazing.”

Besides the additional food items, the Karrs are adding new coffee drinks to their long list of beverages.

More things are to come with the addition of an outdoor eating and entertainment area that soon will be ready for parties and special events. Even in winter, the space will be comfortable because the owners are incorporating outdoor heaters.

John and Audrey Karr attribute the success of the restaurant to their hard-working employees.

“They have really helped us make things work,” said John Karr.
