ELKO — The Nevada Cattlemen’s Association will hold its 82nd annual convention and trade show Dec. 4-6 at the Elko Convention Center.

Association members, vendors who provide services to the beef cattle industry, and guest speakers will join to celebrate the state’s livestock industry. This year’s theme is “Cattlemen and Politics for the Future.”

Registration is available at www.nevadacattlemen.org. Exhibit spaces are nearly full but there are still opportunities to sponsor events, the group reported.

The first night of convention will be “Night on the Town” there will be opportunities to reach out to the participants to promote your business. Please contact Sharon at the Cattlemen’s office or by email at smcknight@nevadabeef.org for more information.

During the convention, committee meetings take place to set policies. This is a chance for members to provide input to a committee chairman on any changes to a policy or a new policy that affects the industry and way of life.

On Dec. 5, the second day of convention, those not wishing to participate in committee meetings have the opportunity to sharpen their bookkeeping skills with QuickBooks. Cassi Johnson with Pacific Intermountain Mortgage will offer a free class from 1-4 p.m. Attendees are recommended to bring their own laptops.
