CARRIE WINKELKOTTER

August 6, 1967 – October 31, 2017

Carrie Winkelkotter was born August 6, 1967 in Ely, NV. Since that day she has been a light to all those who knew her. She was blessed and baptized in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She worked 30 years as a Cosmetologist. She was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in July of 2016. She fought hard and showed no self-pity, instead she uplifted and inspired those around her. Her optimism was contagious, and her generosity knew no limits. Carrie was very empathetic towards others, never judging, and always welcoming people with open arms. She cared very deeply, and would make house visits to work on hair and nails of those in need. Her greatest joy were her children. She does not have many possessions, as all her time and money would be spent on her children, grandchildren, and other loved ones. Her laughter and smile made anyone’s day. Carrie was very aware of how others felt, and always knew what to say to cheer them up. She would make time for anyone who needed it, and sacrificed so much for the benefit of others. In the face of her trials she would say that, “God did not give me cancer, but he is helping me through it.” Carrie was a strong person whose time on this Earth made a difference for the best in the lives of those who knew her. Her last words were “I love you.” She peacefully moved on to the next stage in her existence surrounded by family on October 31, 2017 at the Huntsman Cancer Institute. She is preceded in death by her older brothers, Bryce and Bart Windous. Carrie is survived by her parents, Jerry and Lois Windous, her husband Bruce Winkelkotter, children, Randyn, and Aron Winkelkotter, and Nicole Andreasen; and grandchildren, Millie and Madilyne Winkelkotter, and Haydin and Hunter Andreasen. She is also survived by her brother Darin Windous, and Sidonna Kidwell and their families. Carrie is a beloved daughter, sister, cousin, wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt. She is very loved by many who will remember her for how deeply she loved.
