On Thursday January 11, 2018, Christopher Brian Powers left this life at the age of 45 in Missoula, Montana at his residence.
Christopher was born in Roosevelt, Utah on July 29, 1972 to Gail Powers and Beverly V. Sam Cota. Chris is survived by his Mother Beverly Cota and Step father Michael Cota, daughters Marina R. Powers and Shawnee Day-Powers (Jake Manly) and his granddaughter, Adilynn Marie Dianne Manly; brothers, Darrin (Megan) Powers and Gregory Powers; nephews Bryan Powers, Carlos Powers and Gabriel Powers and nieces, Cameron Powers, Kamie Powers and Kourtney Powers; Auntie/ Mom Helen Walker and so many family and friends also survive him.
Christopher was predeceased by maternal grandmother Ida Sam and maternal grandfather Frank Sam, paternal grandmother, Mildred Powers and paternal grandfather Greg Powers, uncles, Edward Sam, Donald Sam, Willie Blackeye and, aunts, Pauline Blackeye, Eva Frank and his childhood sweetheart Jenny Day.
Christopher was a truck driver for the majority of his life and he enjoyed traveling the world and seeing all the different places and telling family and friends stories of all the wonderful places he had seen. He also liked to play Softball, Football and Basketball. He also enjoyed taking hikes with his daughter Marina and of course driving around in his Mustang, which was his pride and joy. Christopher loved playing basket and going to tournaments with his “Bad Boy” team. He truly thought of them all as his brothers.
Chris requested that services be for immediate family and close friends only.
Services will be held on Friday January 19, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Elko Colony Gym located at 2250 Indian View Heights Elko, Nevada. Luncheon will be served after the services. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be given to his family. Donations may be sent to 1333 Toole Avenue Unit #25, Missoula, Montana 89802
