Don A. Williams of Elko, Nevada passed away December 14, 2017 at the age of 65. Don was born September 21, 1952 to Charles and Christine Williams. He lived the majority of his life in Elko, Nevada with the exception of two years when he was in the Marine Corps, stationed in San Diego, California. He was very proud of his Marine Corps.
Don met the love of his life, Pam Malone, when he was 16 years old and offered her a ride on his motorcycle. They married in 1972 and two years later welcomed their daughter, Jennifer and in 1977 their son, Jeff.
Don made his career in the grocery business, first working at Mayfair Market and then Safeway. He was hired as assistant manager of Raley’s when they opened in 1987 and eventually was promoted to manager. He loved his employees and customers and retired in 2007.
Don and Pam spent winters in Arizona in their 5th wheel, where they met many new friends. He loved going for rides and spending time with his grandkids. He spent the last couple of years remodeling his house, building his man cave in his garage and this summer helped his son-in-law build a deck.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Pam Williams, daughter, Jennifer (Shane) Johnsmeyer and son, Jeff Williams. Don also is survived by his 8 grandkids Hayley Haggerty, Sierra Haggerty, Connor Williams, Keagen Johnsmeyer, Quentin Williams, Kory Johnsmeyer, Jade Williams, Bentley Williams and his great grandson Isaiah Zataray. He is also survived by his sister Cindy Williams, brother, Clark Williams, mother-in-law, Dale Blair and many other family members. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Christine Williams, sisters Janet Williams and Darlene Sabala.
Services will be held at Burns Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 20 at 10:00 am.
