Edna Marie Temoke Ferguson of Reno, Nevada, walked on, to begin her new journey after a lengthy illness. She passed away peacefully at Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno, with her husband Mark and sister Vivian by her side.
Edna was born in Owyhee, Nevada, on March 26, 1958, to Geraldine Dave Temoke (Potter) and Willie “Dun-dah-deeg” Temoke of Ruby Valley, Nevada. Edna moved to Condon, Oregon, with her mother and step-father Sam Potter, where she attended and graduated from Condon High School. She was active in many extra-curricular activities. Upon graduation, Edna was accepted into and attended Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute (SIPI) in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Edna moved to Elko in 1978. She was active in the Elko Band of the Te-Moak Tribe, being elected to the Elko Band Council as the Vice-Chairman. Enda was very intelligent and had a great sense of humor. She made lifelong friends where ever she went.
Edna is survived by her husband, Mark Ferguson of Reno, Nevada, sisters Vivian and Mabel Potter of Oregon, and brother Gerald Temoke of Elko, Nevada, and many extended family in Nevada, Oregon, and Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her mother Geraldine, father Willie, step father Sam Potter, son Nathan “Bacon” Temoke, and brother James “Jimmy” Temoke.
Edna’s ashes will be spread at Multnomah Falls of the Columbia Gorge—Oregon, a place that she loved.
