October 20, 1955 – February 5, 2018
Josephine Linda Chavez of Wendover, Nevada passed away peacefully on February 5, 2018 with loved ones by her side. Known to her friends as JoLinda, she was born in Trinidad, Colorado on October 20, 1955. She is preceded in death by her mother and father Alfredo and Criselda Chavez and her sisters Susie and Gloria. Linda leaves behind her sisters Lillian and Patricia, her brother Orlando, daughters Raquel and Alexandra, son Mason and three grandchildren Syriel, Mason and Cyan Joseph, along with so many other loving friends and family.
Linda loved spending time with her grandchildren, impossible puzzles, and music. She had a fierce wit and a sharp sense of humor. She also had a true passion for reading. So we find it suiting to quote a few lines from Tolkiens ‘Lord of the Rings’. In the words of Bilbo Baggins ‘I don’t know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserved.’ And if that offended anyone, I’m sure that that is just the way she wanted it, full of the humor we all knew and loved her for. To our beloved Treasure of the Sierra Madre, you will be forever missed.
