Thomas Algerio, 90, passed away peacefully on the morning of September 4, 2017 at his home in Pahrump, NV. He was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather.
He was pre-deceased by his father, Orlando Frank Algerio, his mother, Carmela Millicent Gennaro, and brothers, Petsy, Joseph, Peter and Pasquale “Paddy” Algerio, all of Northport, New York.
Surviving Thomas are his brothers, Roland Algerio of Oklahoma and Richard Algerio of Arizona; his wife, Claire, his daughters, Cheryl Shine of Virginia; Wanda Adomeit of Nevada; Sharon Wenzel of New Jersey; his sons, Thomas and Paul Algerio of Nevada; twenty-four grandchildren and thirty-four great grandchildren.
Thomas was born August 25, 1927 in Brooklyn, NY. A construction laborer by trade, he at times worked with his brothers in a family run business in Northport New York, and then on his own both on Long Island, New York, and later in Elko, Nevada.
He married the former Claire Colette Meyer on September 12, 1956.
Thomas is a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving tours in both Germany and Italy during and post-World War II.
His hobbies included collecting, building model airplanes, and repairing items he located in local dumps. He was also an avid rock hound, hunter and New York Yankee Fan.
Services will be held 10:00am, September 9, 2017 at the Pahrump Family Mortuary, with burial in the Garden of Faith section of Grandview Cemetery.
