SPRING CREEK – The Spring Creek links received some funds to upgrades its driving range.
The Spring Creek Men’s Golf Association donated $4,500 to the Spring Creek Golf Course to upgrade the practice area that is currently under construction.
The donation, presented by Doug Nelson, president, and Blaine Nichols, treasurer, will be used for improvements including a new driving range net and a short game practice facility, according to a statement from the Spring Creek Association.
The short game area will be compromised of four separate tees and a target green for golfers to practice approach shots ranging from 40 to 70 yards.
“These additions are part of the facility updates the association has been working on in the last year to help bring the dilapidated areas up to par, no pun intended,” according to the statement.
The men’s golf club is comprised of about 20 members, and they use weekly games, annual membership fees, and sales from signs on benches on the course to contribute to projects like these. The group in the past has helped with paving cart paths and other larger capital items.
“We are very pleased to donate this $4,500 for the remodeling of the practice area,” Nelson said. “We will continue our donations in the future showing our commitment to constantly make this course and Spring Creek a better place to live.”
