EUREKA — Car enthusiasts are invited to drive to Eureka and “Show What Ya’ Brung” to the town’s annual car show.
“Just bring your favorite ride, whether it’s a hot rod, vintage, custom, or your daily driver and enjoy some great hospitality,” said organizer Lee Raine.
Motorcycles also are welcome at the Friday and Saturday event.
Although there is no admission fee, there is a registration fee of $40 per car, which includes two T-shirts and a dash plaque. Cash prizes and trophies will be awarded.
Activities begin with 1,000-foot drag races for all cars and motorcycles on Friday at the Eureka Airport. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and qualifications will run from 10 a.m. until noon so everyone will have a chance to establish their dial-in times before racing starts at 1 p.m. The races will continue from 1 p.m.-5 p.m.
“We have a new light and timing system and cash prizes and trophies will be awarded for top three drag race times,” Raine said.
The Main Street “Cruise-in” will be Friday evening. DJ Bill Micheli will provide music and entertainment both Friday and Saturday. The car show and the concurrent Highway 50 yard sale and swap meet will display along both sides of Eureka’s historic Main Street on Saturday.
The free mini-train and bounce castle for kids will be at the Eureka Fire House.
Last year, vehicles competed in the show from most towns in Nevada. Cash prizes and awards will be presented at a no-host award dinner Saturday evening.
The schedule is subject to change. For up-to-date information, check www.eurekacarshow.com, call 775-237-5484, or email email@example.com.
