ELKO — A woman was arrested for allegedly stealing a motor vehicle in an attempt to drive home to Twin Falls Friday morning.
At 9:43 a.m, Elko police received a report of a stolen vehicle in front of The Wild Rose Florist on Idaho Street.
The owner had left the vehicle running as she entered the flower shop, Lt. Richard Genseal said.
Kimberly Beeler, 31, allegedly stole the vehicle and began driving east on Idaho in what appeared to be an attempt to find an on-ramp onto Interstate 80.
“She got lost on her way out of town, turned back, and that’s when we arrested her,” Genseal said.
Police were driving east on Idaho Street just as she returned westbound. She was arrested at 9:48 a.m.
“We were just at the right place at the right time,” Genseal said. “That was a quick one — a whole five minutes.”
Beeler made comments to officers after the arrest indicating that she had intended to drive back to Twin Falls.
Her bail on the charge of grand larceny of a motor vehicle was set at $15,637.
