ELKO — A Reno man reported missing in early April has yet to be located, and Secret Witness is offering a reward for information on his whereabouts.
Patrick Carnes, 86, was driving west on Interstate 80 returning from Ohio. He was last seen the night of April 13 near Wells by a Nevada Highway Patrol trooper who pulled him over for an improper lane change violation. The trooper gave Carnes a verbal warning and let him go on his way.
When Carnes did not make it home, his family notified authorities. The next day, Carnes’ vehicle was located parked off the road near the interstate about 20 miles east of Winnemucca. The car appeared to be in good working order, and the only thing missing were Carnes and his brown Akita mixed breed dog, Lucky. Even his checkbook was left behind, according to authorities.
Carnes is described as 5-feet, 11 inches tall and weighs 180 pounds. He has blues eyes and is bald with some gray hair. According to his family, he wears glasses full-time and rarely goes anywhere without Lucky.
