June 25

Wesley Manuel Luna, 30, of Elko was sentenced by Elko Municipal Court Judge Mason Simons to serve two days in Elko County Jail with credit for 11 hours served, and to pay $832 after being found guilty of reckless driving.

Justice Court

June 27

James Lee Bare, 19, of Battle Mountain was sentenced by Elko Justice of the Peace Mason Simons to attend a victim-impact panel and to pay $637 after being found guilty of failure to give immediate notice of a motor vehicle accident.

July 1

Angel Alberto Rubio-Sanchez, 26, of Elko was acquitted of domestic battery and battery by Elko Justice of the Peace Mason Simons.

July 10

Glenn Elton Mangold, 39, of Elko was sentenced by Elko Municipal Court Judge Mason Simons to serve 32 days in Elko County Jail, suspended two years on condition of serving two days in Elko County Jail, completing DUI school, attending a victim-impact panel, receiving no new charges, abstaining from alcohol and drugs, and to pay $1,059 after being found guilty of DUI.

July 23

Dustin Duane Stevenson, 28, of Elko was sentenced by Elko Justice of the Peace Mason Simons to serve 10 days in Elko County Jail, suspended one year on condition of receiving no new charges, abstaining from alcohol and drugs, abstaining from contact with the victim, and to pay $637 after being found guilty of battery.

Lachrishna Page Shields, 30, of Wells was bound over to district court by Elko Justice of the Peace Mason Simons to face a charge of possession of a controlled substance not for the purpose of sale.

Justin Rose, 22, of Elko was sentenced by Elko Municipal Court Judge Mason Simons to serve 30 days in Elko County Jail, suspended one year on condition of receiving no new charges after being found guilty of obstructing a public officer and disturbing the peace.

Joshue Cody Johnston, 20, of Elko was sentenced by Elko Municipal Court Judge Mason Simons to serve 10 days in Elko County Jail, suspended one year on condition of receiving no new charges after being found guilty of petit larceny.

Jerry L Ramos, 51, of Elko was bound over to district court by acting Elko Justice of the Peace Brian Boatman to face charges of burglary, open or gross lewdness and indecent or obscene exposure.

Cody Lynn Madison, 31, of Elko was sentenced by Elko Municipal Court Judge Mason Simons to serve 10 days in Elko County Jail, suspended one year on condition of receiving no new charges, and to pay $352 after being found guilty of petit larceny.

Kaasen Earl Koy, 20, of Spring Creek was bound over to district court by Elko Justice of the Peace Mason Simons to face a charge of conspiracy theft.

Tyler Scott Dullum, 20, of Spring Creek was bound over to district court by Elko Justice of the Peace Mason Simons to face a charge of conspiracy theft.

John Johnson, 58, of Medford, Ore., was bound over to district court by Elko Justice of the Peace Mason Simons to face charges of transporting a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance not for the purpose of sale.

July 31

Tina Rae McCoy, 31, of Carlin was sentenced by Elko Municipal Court Judge Mason Simons to serve five days in Elko County Jail, suspended one year on condition of paying $439.08 restitution, and to pay $749 after being found guilty of reckless driving and failure to obey traffic signals.

John C. Atkin, 47, of Elko was bound over to district court by Elko Justice of the Peace Mason Simons to face charges of sexual assault with a child under 14, lewdness with a child under 14 and first degree kidnapping.

Ricky McClinton, 39, of Sausalito, Calif., was bound over to district court by Elko Justice of the Peace Mason Simons to face charges of transporting a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance not for the purpose of sale.

Elizabeth Jean George, 32, of Elko was bound over to district court by Elko Justice of the Peace Mason Simons to face a charge of possession of a credit card without cardholder’s consent.

John Preston Stratz, 22, of Elko was bound over to district court by Elko Justice of the Peace Mason Simons to face charges of ex-felon in possession of a firearm and carrying a concealed weapon.

Shonda Kay Okerlund, 47, of West Jordan, Utah, was bound over to district court by Elko Justice of the Peace Mason Simons to face charges of uttering forged instruments and burglary.

Aug. 5

Rickie Rey Melendez, 23, of Elko was bound over to district court by Elko Justice of the Peace Mason Simons to face charges of burglary, three counts of larceny of a firearm and possession of stolen property valued $650-$3,500.

Aug. 6

Albert James Rodriguez, 26, of Elko was bound over to district court by Elko Justice of the Peace Mason Simons to face a charge of third offense DUI.

District Court

June 6

Brianna Ranae Ferguson, 22, of Elko was sentenced by District Judge Nancy Porter to serve six months in Elko County Jail, suspended 24 months on condition of complying with standard terms of probation, abstaining from alcohol or being present in any establishment for which serving alcohol is the primary purpose unless required for employment, abstaining from gambling or being present in a gambling establishment except for employment purposes, obtaining a substance abuse evaluation and, if deemed appropriate, completing a substance abuse program, obtaining a GED or high school diploma, completing 50 hours of community service, and to pay $235 after being found guilty of conspiracy to commit possession of a controlled substance.

July 8

Jamie Lynn Hofhine, 34, of Elko was sentenced by District Judge Nancy Porter to serve 24 months in Elko County Jail, suspended 36 months on condition of complying with standard terms of probation, obtaining a GED or high school diploma, completing 100 hours of community service, paying restitution of $4,643.62, $267, $137.87, $4,292.25, and $113.22, and to pay $175 after being found guilty of two counts attempting to commit unauthorized signing of credit card, debit card or related document with intent to defraud.

July 11

Jermiah David Walters, 33, of Kittridge Canyon was sentenced by District Judge Nancy Porter to serve 48 months in prison with minimum parole eligibility after 19 months and credit for 116 days served, suspended 60 months on condition of complying with standard terms of probation, abstaining from alcohol or being present in any establishment for which serving alcohol is the primary purpose unless required for employment, abstaining from gambling or being present in a gambling establishment except or employment purposes, obtaining a substance abuse evaluation and if deemed appropriate completing a treatment program, obtaining a mental health evaluation and follow any recommendations and to pay $25 after being found guilty of attempted possession of an explosive or incendiary device in or near a private habitation.
