ELKO – A Spring Creek man was arrested for using counterfeit $20 bills twice on the same day at the same convenience store last month.
Traid Robbins, 19, was arrested Saturday on a warrant for two counts of burglary, two counts of intent to utter a fictitious note, and violation of probation conditions.
Robbins allegedly entered a convenience store March 24 and used a counterfeit $20 bill to make a purchase, said Elko Police Lt. Ty Trouten.
The store became suspicious and called authorities when a female brought in another fake bill allegedly from Robbins later in the day, Trouten said.
The female cooperated with authorities, Trouten said.
“She’s basically a pawn in the transaction.”
Robbins is currently being held at the Elko County Jail without bail.
