ELKO – A man jailed for bicycle theft in October was arrested again this week on a charge of grand larceny of a motor vehicle.
According to Elko Police Lt. Ty Trouten, the owner of a stolen Hummer saw Nicolas W. Fagoaga, 28, of Elko and an unidentified female drive his vehicle into the parking lot of a local grocery store on Oct. 13.
Police were called and, suspecting trouble, neither Fagoaga nor the female returned through the store entryway, evading police. The vehicle was recovered, and a description of the driver fit a profile known by the police.
Fagoaga was arrested Oct. 26 with a stolen bicycle. At that time, authorities found a set of keys and registration to the stolen Hummer.
After a warrant was issued, Fagoaga was arrested at the Elko County Jail on March 24 for burglary; two counts of grand larceny of a vehicle worth $3,500 or greater; and two counts of possessing, receiving, or transferring a stolen vehicle.
Bail was listed at $70,000.
