ELKO — A Spring Creek man is facing felony charges of lewdness with a minor.
A criminal complaint filed Tuesday in Elko Justice Court accuses Kalvin A. Pedersen, 18, of lewdness with an 11-year-old Elko girl on multiple occasions, the latest being in October 2016.
The alleged victim told an Elko police officer in March that Pedersen had forced her to touch him in an inappropriate manner at or near Croydon Drive in Spring Creek. According to a police statement filed with the complaint, the girl was forced to touch him outside of his clothing on four occasions and one time he forced her hand into the front of his pants to touch his genitals.
Although the alleged crime occurred under county jurisdiction, Elko police said they performed the investigation at the request of the district attorney’s office “because of a possible conflict with a county employee” who is a relative of the suspect.
Pedersen is being charged with two counts of lewdness with a child under 14 years of age. He has not been arrested but a summons was in the process of being prepared Thursday, court officials said.
