ELKO – A Spring Creek woman was arrested Thursday on drug charges at an Elko motel following an investigation conducted by the Elko Combined Narcotics Unit.

Mercedes Martinez, 23, was booked into the Elko County Jail charges of possession of heroin and methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was wanted for failure to appear in court on a misdemeanor crime.

With the assistance of the Elko County Sheriff’s Office and Elko Police Department, detectives confirmed that Martinez was staying at a motel on Idaho Street. After receiving a search warrant on the room whey recovered a small quantity of drugs and paraphernalia.

Martinez’s bail was set at $12,920.00.
