I guess its totally up to individual's perception whether ECSD doing good or not. But just want to say its always better to upgrade according to the technology. Using ipad or digital text books will of great help, saving time and student can get better understanding through it, the thing which should be keep in mind is to control the excess of these ipad!!

I think what the ECSD is doing is great! The research shows that student engagement is sorely lacking...across the board (no source cited)! A huge part of daily instruction and bringing creative new methods of instruction are necessary to engage students in the daily lessons. ECSD is bringing education into the 21st century, and I am confident this will be a positive step in the right direction for the students, teachers, and staff. Carry on!

I have to say I think it's a total and complete waste of money. These things won't last a month in a classroom environment so maintenance will be astronomical. It's just another tool intended to shovel more money into the black hole of education. It will give some bureaucrat somewhere a warm fuzzy feeling while the program fails in a spectacular fashion.

It's really too bad ECSD didn't pay any attention to the vast amount of compiled research proving no overall gain to student achievement as well as a huge deficit in the pocketbook on long term maintenance of the new toys. Hundreds of school districts across the nation have already "been there, done that" and are now trying to recover the cost of a failed experiment. Do your homework ECSD! This is my money you are playing with.
