ELKO — A domestic dispute between an Elko man and his girlfriend reportedly ended with the theft of her mother’s remains and his arrest for grand larceny.
Elko Police Lt. Ty Trouten said Collin Stewart, 20, was arguing with his girlfriend on Thursday. At one point, Stewart reportedly took a crystal vase containing her mother’s remains and left the home. He then put the vase in a hole and covered it, Trouten said.
Officers were able to locate the vase and they arrested Stewart for grand larceny of less than $3,500. His bail was listed at $10,000.
