ELKO — Detectives served a search warrant at a home early Monday morning where they suspected they would find stolen property and drug use, said Elko Police Lt. Ty Trouten.
Officers with the Elko Combined Narcotics Unit served the warrant with the help of SWAT team members around 4 a.m. at the home at 764 S. Fifth St., unit No. 28, Trouten said.
The unit arrested two people and recovered stolen property and drug paraphernalia, Trouten said.
Laquan Thompson, 31, and Stacy Herzog, 28, were booked into Elko County Jail on charges of possession of stolen property and possession of drug paraphernalia, Trouten said.
Thompson was out on bail after being arrested May 16 for trafficking a controlled substance and attempt to possess a controlled substance for sale. He paid the $60,000 bail set by the court.
Officers found methamphetamine, marijuana and other prescription medications in the home on South Fifth Street on Monday morning, Trouten said, as well as scales, bags and other paraphernalia.
He could not elaborate on the types of stolen property that detectives collected.
Thompson and Herzog were arrested without incident.
