Editor: This year, the POW*MIA EIko Awareness Association’s 6th Annual Chili Feed and Auction brought the National League of POW/MIA Families Board of Directors, as a whole, to Elko for the first time. Throughout the three days we were in EIko, we were met with smiles, support, and warmth from each community member. From the hotel staffs at the Super 8, Travel Lodge, and Hilton, to the business owners and restaurant staffs, we were continually treated as special members of the community and made to feel welcome. For this, we are truly grateful. Elko is an amazing place, filled with individuals who have created a tightly knit group of dedicated patriots who support each other and those around them. The level of commitment that was shown during the chili feed and continues throughout the year is awe-inspiring and unmatched elsewhere in the country. The effort put into hosting such an event to raise funds for our nonprofit organization will help sustain efforts to account for America’s POW/MIAs, unreturned veterans who are brothers, sons, fathers, husbands, and comrades. The POW/MIA families deeply appreciate such committed citizens and their dedication to the cause we all serve. Lacy Rourke National Coordinator
