BLOOMINGTON, Idaho — A 12-year-old girl from Spring Creek was killed Sunday in a head-on collision on Highway 89 in Idaho, according to Bear Lake County Sheriff Brent R. Bunn.

Preliminary reports indicate that Victoria Collins was a passenger in a car traveling southbound on the highway when it collided with two other cars, Bunn said.

Courtenay Collins, 18, was driving her sister and mother, 44-year-old Anita Collins, when visibility became poor in snowy conditions, Bunn said.

The 2004 Mazda Sedan veered into oncoming traffic, colliding head-on with a 2006 Chrysler sedan with four people inside. The Collins' Mazda then sideswiped a 2005 Chevrolet sedan with three people inside.

All occupants in the Collins' Mazda and the Chrysler sedan were taken to Bear Lake Memorial Hospital in Montpelier, Idaho.

Victoria Collins was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Let it not be lost that we should all drive a little more carefully.
