We all are saddened to learn of the passing of Dr. Jack O. Walther on November 29, 2017, in Reno, after a lengthy illness. Dr. Walther was instrumental in establishing the health care protocols at the Elko Animal Shelter and since then, all incoming animals are vaccinated and treated for illnesses and injuries. Consequently, the shelter now has a very healthy population of adoptable animals.
We also want to thank him for designing the shelter’s Dumke-Weeks Spay/Neuter Clinic whereby all animals are spayed/neutered before adoption. Dr. Walther donated his time and expertise to the clinic’s surgeries and to treating the shelter animals until his retirement in 2013.
Thank you again, Dr. Walther, for your many contributions to the Elko Animal Shelter and to the Elko Community.
