Deputy Court Clerk II

Salary: $20.41 to $26.63 per hour

Salary will be set within the above range based upon the successful applicant’s prior training, education and experience.

Opening beginning August 20, 2018, for a Deputy Court Clerk II to perform a wide variety of legal and clerical support work for the Elko Justice/Municipal Court. Duties of the position include: interacting with and providing information to litigants, attorneys, law enforcement agencies and other interested parties; preparing a variety of legal documents; scheduling court hearings; clerking for court proceedings; preparing minutes and otherwise documenting actions taken by the Court; accepting legal documents for filing; processing payments of fines and fees; operating a variety of office machines and equipment; and preparing and processing warrants of arrest and bench warrants. The successful applicant will also be required to perform other duties as directed by the Court Administrator.

High school diploma or its equivalent required. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Prior experience working with a court, law office or law enforcement agency a plus. Applicant must have strong computer skills and the ability to multitask under pressure while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor with members of the public and co-workers.

Applicants that fail to submit all of the required items may not be considered by the Court. Applicants for the position may be subject to testing and the person hired must successfully complete a criminal history background check.
