ELKO — An outdoor concert series could come to downtown Elko if the Downtown Business Association and Elko County Art club can garner enough support through online votes to earn a grant.

The DBA and art club have proposed having profession musicians perform for a 10 to 12-week free outdoor concert series in Centennial Park, and the organizations recently applied for a Levitt AMP Elko Grant award.

The Levitt AMP Elko Grant Awards are a matching grant opportunity created by the Levitt Foundation to serve communities with populations up to 400,000. Up to 15 nonprofits will receive $25,000 each in matching funds to produce their own Levitt AMP Music Series.

For the grant campaign to be successful, community members must vote.. Supporters should visit the Levitt AMP website at http://levittamp.org to vote.

All of the online votes will be counted to select the final 15 winners. The online voting is open now and closes Nov. 20 at 5 p.m. Winners will be announced Jan. 2.
