February 4, 1942—November 13, 2017

Dolores Willard of Spring Creek, Nevada passed this world peacefully surrounded by family at the University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah; on November 13, 2017. She was the first born of Earl and Loretta Guitar on February 4, 1942, in Duluth, Minnesota; she was the oldest of 4 sisters.

She spent her youth and teenage years in Duluth and in 1964 she moved herself and 2 children Steven and Theresa to Reno, Nevada to start a new life. She later moved to Fallon then Elko in 1971. During her work career Dolores held several managerial positions and was a foster parent. In December 24, 1977 Dolores married Gerald A. Willard, father of Ridge and LeeAn to make a new family. They continued as a foster family and later adopted a brother and sister, Gary and Alicia out of the foster system into the family. In her retired years Dolores’ interests included crocheting blankets and hats for newborns, various volunteering activities especially those dealing with cancer and she had a passion for Genealogy and was an active LDS member.

Dolores was preceded in death by daughters Theresa and Alicia. She is survived by her husband Gerald; sons, Steven (Nory) Guitar and Ridge (Tina) Willard; daughter LeeAn (Gerald) Hughes; sisters, Tina (Guitar) Niskala, Nancy (Guitar) Peterson both of Duluth MN; Gloria (Guitar) Linsten of Parma,Ohio; as well as multiple grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at the LDS First Ward Church in the Spring Creek housing area on Saturday, December 2 at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to a favorite volunteer or charitable organization.
