December 7, 1926—February 27, 2018
Elizabeth was born to Joseph and Ursula (De Palma) Ferreira on December 7, 1926 in San Leandro, CA and passed away peacefully on February 27, 2018 in Elko, NV.
Liz married John “Bud” Rose on July 29, 1945 in Milpitas, CA. Liz and Bud had four children, while ranching in Dixon and Winters, CA. They moved to Nevada in 1956 and lived in the Lee and Jiggs area until 1971, when they moved to Elko.
Liz’s anchors in life were her faith in God, her family, and friends, and she attended St. Joseph Catholic Church regularly. She enjoyed having breakfast every Sunday with her family, playing cards like Bridge and Pinochle, having a day out with her girlfriends, and spending quality time with her loved ones.
Liz worked at Our Store for many years and was a past 4-H leader, High School Rodeo Committee member, and Jiggs Maggie Club member. She also volunteered as a Pink Lady at the hospital. Liz was an avid golfer and a life time member of both Elko and Spring Creek Women’s Golf Clubs. She won multiple state championships and golfed up until the age of 89. One of the highlights of her life was winning Nevada State Net Championship in 1984. Liz was also a phenomenal cook! She enjoyed feeding whoever showed up to the dinner table. Liz was famous for her Christmas cookies and made thousands of cookies during the holidays to give to her loved ones and people in the community. Liz had a wonderful gift of making everyone feel special and very loved. Her genuine hugs, kisses, and laughter will be greatly missed.
