HAROLD ROBERT WHITNEY, JR., was born October 1, 1972, and passed November 6, 2018, in Elko, NV. He lived his youth in his hometown and then spent the next sixteen years in the Bay Area with his family. Later on, he lived in Gillette, WY, working as a welder and heavy equipment operator. Harold was an avid sports fan, particularly of the Oakland A’s, Raiders and Golden State Warriors. “Baby Whit”, as he was known to his family and friends, loved a variety of music, spending time outdoors and enjoyed the challenges of mechanical and electrical repairs.
Harold is survived by his mother, Lois Whitney of Elko; sisters, Dietta Whitney-Espinoza and Joan Whitney, both of Elko; daughters, Hillary Whitney of Arizona, Taylor Whitney of Montana, Makel Whitney of Idaho; sons, Tanner Whitney of Washington and Robert Whitney of Idaho; grandfather, Webb Brady of Elko, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins.
Harold was preceded in death by his father, Harold Robert Whitney, Sr; sisters, Stephanie and Denise Whitney; maternal grandmother, Elizabeth Jackson Brady; paternal grandparents, William Whitney Sr., and Pearl Dunn Whitney; and aunts, Carol Benallie, Maggie Walker, Marion Sam and Betty Dick.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 16, 2018, at the Elko Colony Health and Wellness Center. Viewing will begin at 10:00 am with services following at 11:00 am. Harold will be laid to rest at the Elko City Cemetery.
