March 9, 1983—November 17, 2017
Steven David Arnold, 34, of Carlin, NV, passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2017. He was born on March 9, 1983 in Pocatello, Idaho to Mark and Debbie Arnold. Steven graduated from Pocatello High School in 2000. He moved to Carlin NV with his parents in 2005 where he worked for Newmont Gold as a haul truck driver before becoming a Poker Dealer, a vocation he loved. Steven was a skilled poker player, finding considerable success at other dealer’s tables while winning numerous tournaments. In his free time he enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially coyote calling with his father. As a young man he achieved the rank of black belt in Tae Kwon Do and played football and baseball. He continued his passion for football as a fan of the Oakland Raiders, a team he remained faithful to despite their historic shortcomings. Steven was devoted to his family, who often benefited from his boundless capacity for love and kindness.
He is preceded in death by grandparents Don Arnold, Hal and Betty Kreppein, and Bob and Helen Lenhart.
Steven is survived by his parents Mark and Debbie Arnold of Carlin, NV, his sister and her husband Jennifer and Michael Jones, of Albany, OR, nieces Makalie Main, Sadie Jones, and Eleanor Jones, and nephews Tristen and Nathan Jones. While all Steven encountered benefited from his gracious soul, he was especially fond of making his nieces and nephews the beneficiaries of his warm heart and generous spirit. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
A memorial will be held at 1PM on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at the Carlin United Methodist Church (802 Hamilton Street, Carlin, NV 89822).
