The highest peak in the Jarbidge Mountains is Jarbidge Peak which tops out at 10,793 feet. Bear Creek Summit, pictured here, is about 8,448 feet at its highest point. In early July the road shoulders were still covered in snow.
Bear Creek Summit Road offers some incredible vistas along the route into Jarbidge via Charleston. Although the road is a good, gravel road, it is still sometimes difficult to pass another big vehicle in a tight spot with steep drop offs on at least one side.
