ELKO — Folk artists and Grammy-award winning singer/songwriter Rick Nestler and “the Banjolele Lady” Donna Nestler will perform March 24 at the Western Folklife Center.

The concert from 7-9 p.m. at 501 Railroad St. will be preceded by a BYOU (Bring Your Own) Ukulele-Banjolele Workshop from 1-5 p.m.

The Nestlers are a folk duo committed to bringing together communities of multiple generations to learn and play ukulele and banjolele.

“Like the westward traveling vaudeville acts of the 1920s, and the groovy do-it-yourself community power of folk classics such as Pete Seeger, these musicians bring stories and fun to life where music can be celebrated and created by all of us,” stated the folklife center.

Workshop pre-registration is required. A limited supply of ukuleles is available at the Western Folklife Center, and 5J Music them in stock.
