ELKO — The Newmont Legacy Fund has pledged $28,923 to the Carlin Senior Center for 2018.
Through the program, Newmont Mining Corp. employees donate to the nonprofit of their choice and Newmont provides a 100 percent match.
This year, Newmont employees pledged $14,461.50 to the Carlin seniors and Newmont matched for a total of $28,923.
Donations to the Carlin Senior Center are up considerably from last year’s donations that totaled $17,680.
“Newmont, and our employees, are proud to partner with the Carlin Senior Center to help improve the lives of all our community members by keeping our seniors active, healthy and independent,” said Nancy Ostler, executive director of the Legacy Fund.
