RENO — The Nevada Mining Association announced today the promotion of Dylan Shaver to vice president.
Shaver joined NVMA in 2011 as director of public affairs.
As vice president, Shaver will be responsible for the execution of the association’s strategic plan and member recruitment and retention. He will also continue his work as the public affairs and policy lead for the organization.
Shaver has more than 15 years of public policy, campaign and lobbying experience that make him a natural fit for this promotion, according to the association.
“Dylan has been key in helping NVMA navigate the recession and the current downturn in the commodities market,” stated NVMA President Dana Bennett. “During difficult times for the hardrock mining industry, Dylan has helped the association further define and grow its role for our members. He has helped push NVMA to the next level.”
Prior to joining the Nevada Mining Association, Shaver worked on more than two dozen political campaigns, served as an advisor to several elected officials, and founded the Sagebrush Nevada Group, where he served as both a campaign consultant and advocated for clients from variety of industries across the state.
