ELKO – An Elko man is accused of stabbing someone he was working with during an argument Friday on Park Road.
Jeremy Gallaher, 26, faces a charge of assault with a deadly weapon for allegedly stabbing Jose Zatary when the two began arguing.
According to Sgt. Jason Pepper, the knife was recovered at the scene and Gallaher was found at his residence where he was arrested after being interviewed by the Elko Police Department.
Zataray suffered from a laceration on the left side of his chest and was treated at Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital where he was expected to be treated and released.
Pepper said it is unclear what started the argument but that the confrontation occurred while the two were working together.
“They were working on a shed or something together. They were pulling it apart for somebody,” he said. “Their stories differ on who swung first but they ended up in a fist fight that escalated to Jose getting stabbed.”
Gallaher’s bail was set at $50,000.
