ELKO – An Elko man was booked on more than $40,000 bail after he was arrested on drug charges around midnight Thursday at 485 S. Fifth St.

Police spotted Nicolas W. Fagoaga, 29, and ran a check that determined he was under a probationary hold, according to Elko police Lt. Ty Trouten.

He was arrested at Joe’s Roadside Market. Police confiscated about 8.5 grams of methamphetamine, “a little bit of heroin,” and other substances that are being tested to determine what they are, Trouten said.

Fagoaga was booked on charges of trafficking a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, and possession of a hypodermic device. His bail was listed at $41,140.

According to Elko Daily Free Press records, Fagoaga was arrested for possessing, receiving or transferring a stolen vehicle and possession of a controlled substance in October 2016, and grand larceny of a motor vehicle in March 2017.
