ELKO – A man extradited from Colorado in May on allegations of child sexual assault pleaded not guilty Monday in district court.
Jason D. Hintze, 38, was arrested at his home in Montrose, Colorado after a warrant was issued on four counts of sexual assault of against a child under the age of 14, two counts of lewdness with a child under 14, and incest.
According to court documents, the assaults occurred in Elko between December 1, 2005 and March 31, 2013 when the victim was between the ages of 6 and 12 years old and before the family moved to Colorado in 2013.
Hintze was brought back to Elko in April and he waived his preliminary hearing in Elko Justice Court in June.
Hintze remained in custody as he entered his plea to Judge Al Kacin.
A trial date has not been set.
