ELKO – Nine Elko residents were arrested on drug charges at a northside home Thursday evening, and drugs including meth and heroin were confiscated.

The most serious charge was drug trafficking against James L. Bell, 46. He was booked on a parole violation along with two counts of possession of a controlled substance. Bail was set at $30,000.

Elko police detectives and patrol officers, along with the Elko Combined Narcotics Unit and SWAT team, served a search warrant at 150 Laurel Drive at about 7:30 p.m., according to police Lt. Mike Palhegyi. A stolen firearm and drug paraphernalia were confiscated along with the drugs.

Others who were arrested are:

— Bradley C. Bowman, 59, on felony charges of possession of a controlled substance and buying, possessing or receiving stolen property; and misdemeanor charges of possession of a hypodermic device and drug paraphernalia. Bail: $26,780

— Olivia A. Thompson, 20, on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance and a misdemeanor charge of possession of less than one ounce of marijuana. Bail: $5,740

— William S. Agee, 51, on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance. Bail: $5,000

— Elizabeth A. Morrison, 28, on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance. Bail: $5,000

— Nickolas J. Callahan, 28, on a misdemeanor charge of use or possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail: $640

— Tieres A. Lopez, 23, on a misdemeanor charge of use or possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail: $640

— Michael M. Melendez, 20, on a misdemeanor charge of use or possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail: $640

— Tiffani L. Thornton, 37, for violation of probation or condition of suspended sentence, and use or possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail: $640

Palhegyi said the arrests followed an extensive investigation in which police received reports of suspicious activity at the residence.

He said a “trafficking” amount of meth was confiscated but he did not know the exact amount.

The investigation is ongoing.
