ELKO – A speeding charge led to a Utah man’s arrest for drug trafficking.

Frank Stricker, 26 of Magna was stopped for driving too fast on the freeway, said Nevada Trooper Natalie Hernandez.

The vehicle was traveling east around 1:15 a.m. Sunday, she said, when it was pulled over. Upon investigation, the patrol officer discovered marijuana in the vehicle. The trooper also learned that the man’s license had expired and he was driving an unregistered vehicle.

Stricker was arrested for possession of more than one ounce of marijuana, being a non-resident driver with suspended privileges, operating an unregistered vehicle, speeding 11-15 mph over the posted limit, and trafficking a controlled substance.
