ELKO – An ATV accident over the Memorial Day weekend sent three local residents to the hospital.
Elko County Sheriff's office responded to the accident in the Soldier Creek area around 6 p.m. Saturday.
Anthony Rains of Elko, Jenell Cook of Spring Creek and another male all received medical attention following the accident.
Two of the vehicle’s occupants were transported by ambulance to Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital while another was transported by Reach Air to the University of Utah Hospital.
No one involved with the accident was charged but Elko County Undersheriff Ron Supp said it is important for drivers and passengers to be careful when they are four wheeling.
“You have to be aware that there are other people on those roads. There are a lot of blind spots on those roads,” he said. “You have to take extra precaution, especially on a weekend like that since there are so many people out. Another vehicle wasn’t a factor in this one but that’s something that you see with ATVs on a regular basis.”
