On Friday night, at Clark High School, in Las Vegas, South No. 1 Boulder City dominated the action from the opening tip and never looked down — the Lady Spartans flying by the Lady Spartans in three sets by scores of 25-14 twice and 25-12 in the third game.

During the Division 1A East regional tournament, No. 2 Owyhee — which earned a first-round bye — earned a trip to state with a 3-1 victory over No. 3 Jackpot in the semifinal round.

North No. 2 Owyhee (7-7 overall) will play Central No. 1 Pahranagat Valley (21-8-2 overall) at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, at Clark High School, in Las Vegas. 

The No. 5 Lady Indians posted a three-set sweep of No. 4 Truckee in the regional quarterfinal on Friday but were bounced from the tournament in a straight-set loss Saturday to No. 1 Dayton — which Elko defeated twice in the regular season.

With the loss, the No. 6 Lady Spartans will now face No. 3 Lowry in the regional quarterfinal round at 7 p.m. Friday, at Hug High School, in Sparks.

In the regular season, the team split the series — Spring Creek earning a five-set road victory on Oct. 4, Lowry rolling off a straight-set road win on Oct. 25.

The No. 5 Lady Indians will face No. 4 Truckee in the 3A North regional quarterfinal round at 5 p.m. Friday, at Hug High School, in Sparks.

In the regular season, the Lady Wolverines beat the Lady Indians in five sets on Sept. 16, in Truckee.

The Lady Spartans (12-9 overall, 5-4 in league) have clinched a berth in the 3A north regional tournament — seeding still to be determined — and will close the regular season with a match against the Lady Greenwave at 6 p.m. Thursday, in Fallon.

The Lady Leopards (2-9 overall, 2-3 in league) will play at 6:15 p.m. on the road at Wendover, Utah.

The Lady Railroaders (0-11 overall, 0-4 in league) will host Owyhee (3-5 overall, 2-2 in league) at 5 p.m. Friday, in Carlin.

The Lady Jaguars (4-3 overall, 4-1 in league) will welcome Eureka (9-6-1 overall, 3-0 in league) at 10 a.m. MST on Saturday, in Jackpot.

The Lady Spartans (8-7 overall, 1-2 in league) will play on the road against Lowry at 6 p.m. Tuesday, in Winnemucca, and host Fallon at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6.

The Lady Indians (11-3 overall, 3-0 in league) will host Fallon at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, and Lowry at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, at Centennial Gymnasium.

The Lady Indians (7-3 overall, 4-1 against 3A North) will open league play of the Division 3A North-East against Dayton at 6 p.m. Friday, at Centennial Gymnasium, closing the home stand with a noon Saturday tipoff versus Fernley.
