TWIN FALLS, Idaho – The College of Southern Idaho baseball program announced it has added four more players to the list of athletes taking their game to the next level for the 2026-27 school year.
Previously, Caden Fenger (Nicholls State), Mack Evans (Nicholls State), Degan Rigby (Utah Tech), Grayson Riding (Oregon State) and Ryder Cutlip (Utah Valley) all selected their next school.
Adding to that list is Trey Purser (Colorado Mesa University), Will Grizzle (University of San Francisco), Crew Secrist (Texas A&M Corpus Christi) and Jackson Gardner (Utah Tech University).
Purser carried a big bat for the Golden Eagles this past season, setting three records in the wood bat era. The designated hitter and first baseman holds the single-season records for slugging percentage (.814) and home runs (21), along with the career record for home runs (27). On the season, Purser hit .348 at the plate with 10 doubles, one triple and 78 RBI. He was a Region 18 First Team selection and was chosen to the Region 18 All-Tournament Team. Colorado Mesa competes in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (NCAA Division II). He will play for former CSI baseball national champion Chris Hanks, who leads the Mavericks. CMU finished the season 53-7 overall, 31-1 in conference play and made it to the NCAA Super Regionals.
Joining him as a record holder is Crew Secrist. The sophomore outfielder now holds the single-season record for most doubles with 23 and the career record for most doubles with 43 (both in the wood bat era). Secrist hit .441 this season with five home runs and 63 RBI. He was the Region 18 Player of the Year, made the Region 18 All-Tournament Team and was named to the NJCAA Honorable Mention All-American list. Texas A&M Corpus Christi competes in the Southland Conference (NCAA Division I).
Grizzle finished his season at CSI with a 4.94 ERA on the mound. He pitched 27.1 innings, giving up 15 earned runs on 33 hits with 32 strikeouts. The University of San Francisco competes in the West Coast Conference. The Dons finished runner-up at the conference championship.
Gardner will join teammate Degan Rigby at Utah Tech this fall, both as pitchers. The freshman earned Region 18 First Team honors on the mound. He finished the season with a 1.91 ERA and a 3-0 record. He pitched 33 innings, giving up seven runs on 17 hits with 33 strikeouts. Utah Tech competed this past season in the Western Athletic Conference but will compete next season in the Mountain West Conference (NCAA Division I).
These players helped the Golden Eagles to a Scenic West Athletic Conference regular-season championship. They finished as the Region 18 runner-up with a 43-14 overall record.
